Here are some steps to follow for a perfect DIY manicure:
Step 1: Clean
Your Nails
Before starting the manicure, it is important to clean your nails
properly. Remove any old nail polish with a non-acetone nail polish remover.
Then wash your hands and dry them thoroughly. Use a cuticle pusher to gently
push back the cuticles.
Step 2: Trim
and File Your Nails
Use a nail clipper to trim your nails to your desired length. Use a nail
file to shape your nails. Make sure you file in one direction only, to prevent
nail breakage.
Step 3: Buff
Your Nails
Use a nail buffer to smooth out the surface of your nails. This will
help the nail polish adhere better and prevent chipping.
Step 4: Apply
Nail Polish
Choose your favorite nail polish color and apply it in thin, even coats.
Wait for each coat to dry before applying the next. To avoid streaks, apply the
polish with three strokes: one down the center of the nail, and one on either
side. You can also use a base coat to prevent staining and a top coat for added
shine and protection.
Step 5: Clean
Up Mistakes
Use a cotton swab dipped in nail polish remover to clean up any mistakes
around the edges of your nails.
Step 6:
Moisturize Your Hands
After the nail polish has dried, apply hand cream to keep your hands and
cuticles moisturized.
Doing your own manicure at home can be a fun and rewarding experience.
Plus, you'll save money and time by not going to a salon. By following these
steps, you'll have beautiful nails in no time.
